- Bio: Funeral services for Robert Dean"Bob"purvis were held at 2:PM Friday February 25,1994. Pastor Tim Hutslar officiated ata the service at the Froid Congregational Church; interment was in the Froid South Cemetery. Bob, 60, died at Roosevelt Memorial Medical Center in Culbertson early tuesday morning February 22,of Cancer.
Bob was born in Coulbertson November 18 , 1933; the youngest of three children of Robert and Angelo Purvis, He grew up and attended schools in the Froid community and worked most of his life as a carpenter. He lived in a number of communities in Montana, and for a time in Alaska where he worked on constrution of facilities related to the North Slope Oil Development.
He married Mary Matejovsky; they maintained thier home in Sidney, and Bob travelled from there to job sites thruout Montana They were divorced about 8 years ago;
Bob returned to Froid where he has made his home since, In his later life Bob became a Christian and most of his activities in recent years centered on his faith.
Stricken with cancer he entered Roosevelt Memorial Nurseing Home in Culbertson last July.
- Bob is survived by three sons Robby,and his wife Brandy; and David and Tom all of Storm Lake Iowa. by a daughter Debbie,(Don) Murray; of Greeley, Colo.and 3 step-children Shirley Brown of Glendive,MT. Gene Matejovsky, of Sonoity,Arizona, and Neal Matejovsky, of Williston, ND. He is allso survived by 10 grandchildren; 1 brother Merton(Pete)Purvis and a sister Lois(Jim)O'toole both of Froid.
