- Bio: Bio Courtesy Anonymous (#47448301)Lucille Baker, 98 of Pender died on Monday. July 31,2006 at Pender Community Hospital.Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Pender. The visitation will be held tonight (Thursday) from 3 until 8 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery at Pender.Lucille was born on March 28,1908 in Tekamah to Cora Lea Phillips and James Robert Phillips. The family moved to a farm east of Pender and she attended Potter School, and later Pender High school.She married Roy Baker on Dec. 19, 1927 in Sioux City in the Presbyterian Church. They lived on a farm seven miles east of Pender and later moved to their new home eight miles east of Pender in 1952. Roy farmed and later worked at the A,S.C.S. office. and Lucille was a homemaker and enjoyed raising their son Carroll.Roy passed away on Nov.22.1969,but Lucille remained on the farm and enjoyed gardening yard work, baking and helping with grandchilderen and great grandchildren.A resident at Pender Care Center for the last several years, she was a devoted Christian and member of the Cornerstone Assembly of god church in Pender.Lucille is survived by her son. Carroll Baker and wife Ruth of Pender; grandsons Kenneth and Barb Baker of Homer, Dennis Baker of Pender, and Ronald and Kathy Baker of Pender; eight great- grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; two sisters-inlaws, Hazel Ollson of Springfield, Mo., and Ethel Phillips of Lyons, and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; two brothers Glen and Lester, and Lester's wife Blanche.
