- Edna Ann Pettit Winkler passed away on September 9, 2009 in South Jordan, Utah at the age of 91. She was born March 6, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Denton Pettit and Nora Glenn Pettit. She attended and graduated from West High School. On September 18, 1940, she married Grant U. Winkler in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
- Edna was an accomplished pianist and was a ward organist. She also accompanied her sister who was a vocal soloist. She took up painting in her later years and many of her paintings decorated their home and others. She and her husband Grant liked to travel and did so in and outside of the U.S. She worked for many years at the Salt Lake Clinic as Stenographer and Secretary. She assisted Grant with his furniture re-touching business as well. She and Grant served an LDS Mission to Nauvoo, Illinois from 1981-1983.
- She now happily joins her husband Grant who passed away in December of last year. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Marci Dawn, her parents and her sister Patricia Pettit Clayton. Other of Edna's surviving family members: a niece Julie A. Clayton, nephew, Dale A. Clayton (Connie), three great-nieces, brother-in-law Jerry K. Clayton (Annette) and Harold Winkler (Joyce) and family.
- Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the East Millcreek Ninth Ward Chapel, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2600 East), East Millcreek, Utah. A visitation will be held that morning from 11:00 to 12:30 noon.
Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East).
