- Bio: Son of Willis Sr. & Pearl (Wittenberg) Pelter.
He attended school in Schuyler and Richland, Nebraska. For a year, Willis went to work for the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corp) in Gering, Nebraska. He returned to Columbus and went to work for Columbus Grain. He married Garnet Christensen on February 15, 1941 in York, Nebraska. They lived in Monroe, Nebraska where Willis managed the Monroe Grain Company. In 1948, the family moved to Newman Grove, Nebraska where Willis owned and operated the Newman Grove Grain Company. In 1963, he purchased the Battle Creek Grain Company in Battle Creek, Nebraska and moved to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1965. In 1971, Willis sold his grain company's and moved to Modesto, California. There he owned and operated Pelter Distributing Company until 1983 when they moved back to Columbus.
Willis was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Elk's Country Club of Norfolk, and the Nebraska Grain Dealers Association.
