- Bio: Frances L. Wikre, 93, of Owatonna died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Traditions in Owatonna.
- She was born June 29, 1920, in West Concord, Minn., the daughter of Harry and Pearl (Freeman) Parker. Frances grew up in West Concord and graduated from West Concord High School. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Wikre on Dec. 31, 1939, in Austin. Frances worked for Wolesky Drug, and a Clerk of Court for Steele County. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and being at the condo in Breezy Point. Frances was an avid golfer, who belonged to women's golf league in Faribault, and she even went out golfing on her 90th birthday. She was very happy to live at Countryside in Owatonna, where she was the first resident to move in.
- She is survived by her children, Bob (and Donna) Wikre of Owatonna, Barbara (and Jay) White of Hudson, Wis., and Jeff (and Kim) Wikre of Windsor, Colo.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Mary Ella (Wes) Westerman of Nashville and Geraldine (Arlo) Sturm of Austin.
- She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, and two sisters.
- The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Traditions.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Julie Malone officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Owatonna. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Heartland Hospice.
