- Bio: Iva B. Engler, 60 of Perham formerly of Pennock, died Monday November 17, 2014 at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Pennock. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Iva Beth Engler was born on February 3, 1954 in Willmar, the daughter of Milton and Mavis (Gunderson) Oslund. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at Tripolis Lutheran Church. She attended Atwater High School graduating in the class of 1972. On April 17, 1973, Iva was united in marriage to Jerry Engler. To this union five sons and one daughter were born. They made their home in Pennock where Iva worked for the Willmar Cookie Company before working at Rice Memorial Hospital as a pharmacy technician. She retired after 20 years of service due to her health. In 2003, they moved to Perham. Iva and Jerry were able to share in 41 years of marriage. Iva enjoyed gardening, camping, baking and watching ‘Wheel of Fortune”. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Todd Engler of Pennock, Mark Engler (friend, Beth Parker) of Paynesville, Kelly (Craig) Gillette of Slayton, Jeremy (Maureen) Engler of Sebring, Fl and Joel Engler of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Linda Oslund, Karen (Dennis) Bjerke, Doris (Dale) Breuer, Ilo Maass and Paula Oslund. She was preceded in death by her son, Tracy; parents; step-father, Walter Anderson and brother-in-law, Lowell Maass.
