- Bio: ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Christine J. Hardy will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. Larry Tantow officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hardy, 79, of Rochester, died Friday (Nov. 9, 2007) at Samaritan Bethany Heights.
Christine J. Olson was born June 5, 1928, in Langford, S.D., and graduated from Langford High School. On June 8, 1949, she married Martin Hardy in Webster, S.D. She worked as a dietary aide at the hospital in Virginia, Minn., and later in sales at Dayton's department store in Minneapolis. Mrs. Hardy and her husband moved to Rochester in 1994. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, embroidery and handiwork.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas of Ithaca, N.Y., and Duane of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Bonnie (Ray) Barnett of Mazeppa, Candyce Hardy of Ithaca and Olive (Dennis) Johansen of Quincy, Ill.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard (Alice) Olson of Aberdeen, S.D., and Mernie (Joyce) Olson of Langford; and five sisters, Amy Baule of Andover, S.D., Evelyn Olson of Minnetonka, Minn., Thelma (Duane) Dutenhoeffer of Scottsbluff, Neb., Elsie Reinhart of Phoenix and Opal (Gary) Jordan of Watertown, S.D. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ole Olson and Thomas Olson Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes.
