- Bio: Armond E. Olsen, Sr., 80, of Foxboro, passed unexpectedly on October 25, 2014 in the hospital surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Wright) and father of Armond Jr., Steve, Ken, Irene and Doug.
- Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Armond and Lillian (Larson) Olsen. Armond was a graduate of Brooklyn Community College, Class of 1953. He and his wife Helen were married in Brooklyn, New York on January 19, 1957. He worked many years as a Systems Engineer for IBM prior to retiring. Armond was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Foxboro and was a Free Mason. He enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle, reading the daily newspaper and following local sports. He loved spending time with his large family, amusing them with his quick wit and watching over them in his loving, protective way.
- Beloved father (and “Poppy”) of his five children and families: Armond Jr. (Butch) and Linda Olsen of Plainville, Steven and Beth Olsen of Mansfield, Kenneth Olsen and Dr. Mary Hillstrom of Lincoln, RI, Irene (Olsen) and Jim Shingara of Schwenksville, PA, and Douglas and Rene Olsen of Foxboro; six grandchildren- Solveig, Alex, Olivia, Ajae, Abigail, and James; and great granddaughter- Gabriella.
- Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend the visitation in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, RT 1A, Wrentham Center. His funeral will be in the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 212 Main Street, Foxboro. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.
