- NESTVOLD, Carl John, Rev., age 67 years, passed away at his home in Ferndale, Monday, June 7, (1948) following an illness of several months. Rev. Nestvold was born in Norway and came to the United States at the age of 15 years; he attended Augsburg College and Seminary from 1903 to 1907, and was ordained as a Lutheran Free minister in 1910. Rev. Nestvold has had pastorates in Granville, South Dakota, McVille, Rugby and Bisbee in North Dakota, and Wanamingo, Minnesota, before coming to Ferndale in August, 1943, where for the past five years he had been pastor of the Lutheran Free Church of Ferndale and Golgotha, White Horn Lutheran Church. He is survived by the widow, Marie; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Roney, Seattle; one granddaughter, Kay Marie Roney; one brother, Ole, of Peerless, Montana; one sister, Mrs. Marie Langeland, Stavanger, Norway. Funeral services will be conducted at the Lutheran Free Church in Ferndale, Saturday afternoon, June 12 at 1:30 p. m. standard time, Rev. Jonas Helland, of Everett, officiating. Deacons and trustees of Rev. Nestvold's two churches will serve as casketbearers and honorary casketbearers. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Monroe's at Ferndale.
- NESTVOLD, Marie, age 79, of Seattle, passed away in a hospital, Monday, Dec. 4, (1961) following an extended illness. She had been a resident of Ferndale for seven years prior to 1948. She is the widow of the late Rev. C. J. Nestvold and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Ferndale. Survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Roney of Seattle; two granddaughters, Kay and Karen Roney, both of Seattle. Funeral services will be conducted in the Moles' Monroe Chapel Thursday, Dec. 7 at 1:30 p. m. with Rev. E. P. Dreyer officiating. Final resting place, family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery.
