  Bio: Margaret M. Thompson, 84, of Fort Dodge, died Monday, October 16, 2006 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2006 at Badger Lutheran Church with the Rev. Darryl Landsverk officiating. Burial will be held in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.Margaret is survived by her children and their spouses, Ralph and Carol Thompson of Glenwood City, WI; Ronald and Jane Thompson of Mt. Airy, MD; and Mark and Pat Thompson of Fort Dodge; eight grandchildren, Kristin (Robert) Brandt of Gren Ellyn, IL; Jennifer Thompson, Erik Thompson, both of Minneapolis, MN; Rebecca Thompson and Teddy Thompson of Mt. Airy, MD; Matthew (Amanda) Thompson of Garrison, IA; Dan (Amy) Thompson of Fort Dodge; Rachel (Ryan) Maehl of Fort Dodge; great-grandchildren; Mona, Zachary, Tyler, Benjamin, Brett, Lainey, Ben and Kennedy; her brother Robert Oleson of Fort Dodge; her sisters Helen Thompson of Des Moines, Ruth Thompson of Bode and sister-in-law Frances Thompson of Fort Dodge; her aunt Josie Ocenasek; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2004 and her parents.Margaret Oleson, the daughter of Edwin and Mary Ann (Julius) Oleson, was born on May 19, 1922 in Badger Township. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1939. On August 27, 1944, Margaret was united in marriage to Robert Thompson at Badger Lutheran Church. She was employed as a secretary for the Fort Dodge Public School System and worked at Coats Manufacturing. She loved working along side her husband on the farm. The couple farmed in the Badger area all their lives before moving into Fort Dodge in 1992.Margaret was an active member of Badger Lutheran Church. She was past president and secretary of ELCA Women, taught Sunday school for 18 years and sang in the church choir for many years.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards Hospice of Fort Dodge or to Badger Lutheran Church. .
