- Bio: Dale Herbert Monson was born on April 20, 1923 in Closter, Nebraska. His parents were the late Daniel and Margaret (Hanson) Monson. He resided in Petersburg, Nebraska and farmed. On May 30, 1945 Dale was united in marriage to Monica Clara Reicks at St. John Berchman in Raeville, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Dale and Monica enjoyed gardening and working the harvest together on their farm. They farmed from 1945 to 1975 when they retired and moved to Perham, Minnesota in 1976. Dale continued to work part time with Swenson Potato, and also worked in repairs. On March 29, 2014 Dale passed away at Perham Living in Perham, Minnesota at 90 years of age. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
- Preceding Dale in death were his parents; son, Kenneth; grandsons: Richard Monson, Kevin Doll and Brian Doll; brother, Earl; sisters: Delores & Clara Mae.
- Dale is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Monica Monson of Perham; daughters: Shirley (Lee) Weyer of Garrison; Sharon (Leo) Swanson of Perham; son, Marvin (Arlene) Monson of New York Mills; daughter-in-law, Diane Monson of Perham; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Norma Monson of Oenala, Nebraska; many other relatives and a host of friends.
