- Bio: Roberta (Birdie) Joann Holsclaw died on Thursday, May 13 at Boulder Community Hospital surrounded by her immediate family.
- She was born in Staunton, Virginia, August 23, 1948 to William Woodward and Arliss (Shaffer) Monk and came with her family to Greeley, Colorado in 1954.
- She attended Greeley schools and the University of Northern Colorado and was a member of the First Congregational Church.
- On June 14, 1970 she married Kris Lee Hernbloom in Greeley; they later divorced. She had a long and distinguished career as a certified professional genealogist in compiling, lecturing and teaching. She was a faculty member of the yearly Samford Institute in Birmingham, Alabama and a Fellow of the Utah Genealogical Association.
- She married Russell Paul Holsclaw on November 22, 1980 in Greeley and they lived in Longmont the remainder of her life.
- Survivors are her husband and a son, Will Holsclaw, of Longmont; step-daughter, Heather Holsclaw of Lansing, Michigan; sister Gail Newton of Greeley; mother Arliss Monk of Greeley; nephews David Gonzalez of Sacramento, California, and Justin Hoffner of Greeley; niece Camille Steiner of South Elgin, Illinois.
- She was preceded in death by her father, William Monk, and brother, Joel Kenneth Monk.
- A memorial service was held Saturday, May 22 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1000 15th Ave., Longmont, Colorado.
- Inurnment will follow at a time and date to be determined.
- Arrangements under the direction of Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO.
