- Bio: Millerd Moen, 86, of rural Vining, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Henning.
- He was born Dec. 7, 1923, at home, south of Vining, the son of George and Augusta (Johnson) Moen. He was baptized by Rev. H. Winther and confirmed Nov. 13, 1938 by Rev. A. Framstad at the West Nidaros Lutheran Church.
- Millerd attended grade school in Vining. He enlisted in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the Philippines as an Anti Aircraft Heavy Artillery from 1945 to 1946. He was honorably discharged.
- He was a farmer with his brothers, Elmer and Sam. They enjoyed having coffee and visiting with family, friends and neighbors.
- Survivors include his sister, Mae (Bert) Linder; brother, Elmer Moen; nieces: Barbara (Duane) Bjerketvedt; Doreen (Mark) Ross; Adele (Greg) Bainter; nephews Bradley (Cindy) Linder; Darrel (Sandi) Tuel; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
- Millerd was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Gladys (John) Tuel; Doris (Robert) DeLancy; brother, Sam Moen (Feb. 18, 2010) and niece, Glenda (Linder) Sethney.
A joint funeral was held this morning for Millerd his brother, the late Selmer (Sam) Moen, at Nidaros Lutheran Church in rural Clitheral.
- Arrangements were with the Belmont Funeral Home of Henning, Minnesota.
