- Bio: Elmer Moen, 93 of Vining, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at TriCounty Hospital in Wadena.
- Elmer Moen was born at the family home south of Clitherall on May 4, 1918, the son of George and Augusta (Johnson) Moen. He was baptized by Rev. J. Paulson and confirmed on October 23, 1932 by Rev. A. Framstad at the West Nidaros Lutheran Church.
- Elmer was a lifetime member of the Nidaros Lutheran Church. He attended grade school in Vining. He farmed with his brothers, Millerd and Sam.
- He enjoyed having coffee and visiting with his family, friends and neighbors. Elmer became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Henning in September of this year.
- Elmer is survived by a sister, Mae (Bert) Linder, Clitherall; nieces, Barbara (Duane) Bjerketvedt, Doreen (Mark) Ross, and Adele (Greg) Bainter; nephews, Bradley (Cindy) Linder, and Darrell (Sandi) Tuel; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a cousin, Violet Moen.
- He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys (John) Tuel, and Doris (Robert) DeLancy; brothers, Selmer and Millerd; and a niece, Glenda (Linder) Sethney.
- Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
- Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Vining
- Clergy: Carl Anderson
- Burial: Nidaros Lutheran Church Cemetery.
