Funeral services for Neil Means, 85, Villisca, were Monday, December 28, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca with the Rev. Robert Beard officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Villisca EMTs. Wolfe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Means died Wednesday, December 23, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center in Villisca, where he had been a resident for eight years.
He was born September 16, 1913, in Nodaway to T. F. and Bessie Thomason Means. He married Florence Lucille Larson October 16, 1934 in Glenwood, Iowa. He graduated from Villisca Community Schools in 1931 and had been a farmer most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence Means, June 22, 1988; one grandson, Shawn Carmichael; and two brothers, Earl and Lee.
Survivors include his son, Robert Means and his wife, Kathleen, of Grand Lake, Colorado; daughter Janet Dever and her husband, Bill of
