- Bio: NISSWA -- Ilene Belle Madison Naley, 81, Nisswa, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
- She was born Aug. 27, 1921, in Lismore to James R. and Rhoda B. (Spaulding) Madison. She married Lennen R. Naley on Feb. 28, 1943, in Kenneth. They lived in St. Paul for six years, Eagle Bend for 11 years, Staples for 18 years and their Gull Lake home for 17 years. She received her bachelor's degree in hospital dietetics and master's degrees in sociology and social work from the University of Minnesota. She was a certified clinical social worker employed by the State of Minnesota in the quality assurance and review program. She retired in 1986. Memberships include Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa, Mary Martha Circle, former state president of Extension Home Economists, Beta Chapter Clovia Sorority, Phi Upsilon Omicron Society, Epsilon Sigma Phi Society and 4-H.
- Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lowell Naley, Minnetonka, and Rolf Naley, Irving, Texas; a daughter, LeAnn Pottebaum, Lake Villa, Ill.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Irene Isaacson, New Port Richey, Fla.; and a brother, Leland Madison, Abilene, Texas.
- Five brothers, Austin, Verlin, Ray, Eldon and Keith Madison; and a sister, Cora Eckstrom, died earlier.
- Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa with Pastor Kurt Wied and Pastor Christian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. Memorials are preferred to the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.
- Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd and an hour before services Monday at the church.
