Two Burned to Death in Fire Burning Blacksmith Shop May 6. Albert Nelson and Charles Linderman Lose Lives in Flames Last Tuesday Evening
Two of the most tragic deaths to be reported in a long time by this newspaper happened on last Tuesday evening when Albert Nelson, of this city, and Charles Linderman, of Geraldine, lost their lives by being burned to death in the flames that destroyed the Nelson blacksmith shop, just south of the Grand Union hotel.
Charles Reynold Linderman was born at Cokato, Minn., on July 16, 1889, and was 51 years, 9 months and 20 days of age. He spent his early life in Minnesota and came to Montana in 1893. He came to Chouteau county about a year ago and had worked around Geraldine since that time.
He leaves to mourn his tragic death his mother, Mrs. James Linderman; two children, Mrs. J. E. Nilan, and Charles Linderman, of Helena; brothers and sisters, Raymond Linderman, Harbor Springs, Mich.; Lawrence Linderman, Helena; Mrs. W. J. Luma, Helena; and Helen and Verna of Helena; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Louther chapel on Friday afternoon and were in charge of the American Legion, as he served during the World war. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Gravenor, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, and the body was place in the soldier's plot of Riverside cemetery with full military honors.
