- Bio: Mrs. Stanerson Dies; Funeral Set SaturdayMrs. Bertha Stanerson, 81, Estherville, died at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday [November 11, 1970] at the Holy Family Hospital of a coronary occlusion. She entered the hospital Sunday for surgery.She was born April 14, 1889, at Jewell, to Mr. and Mrs. Hans Lilland and was educated in rural Hamilton County Schools and attended Jewell Lutheran College.She was married June 30, 1915, to Thomas Edward Stanerson at Des Moines. After their marriage, they farmed in the Dolliver area until retiring to Estherville in 1955.They were active in the Palestine Lutheran Church until moving to Estherville where she had continued to be active in the Estherville Lutheran Church until her death.Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lavon) Anders, Des Moines; and one granddaughter, Becky Anders, a student at St. Olaf College.She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one infant son, one infant daughter, three brothers and one sister.Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Estherville Lutheran Church, followed by public services at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery.Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Estherville after 10:00 a.m. Friday morning until noon on Saturday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
