- Bio: SOMONAUK — Willard O. Lee, 87, of Somonauk, passed away Saturday, March 11, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. He was born July 2, 1929, in Sanborn, Minn., the son of George and Dena (Lee) Lee. He married Shirley Lee on Nov. 9, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, Somonauk Lions Club, and the Sandwich Moose Lodge. Willard worked at First Security Bank in Sioux City, Iowa, Greenfield Farmers State Bank and Farmers State Bank in Somonauk.He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Somonauk; one daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Merle, of Crystal Lake; two sons, Mark (Lisa) Lee, of Somonauk, Charles Lee, of Somonauk; five grandchildren, Pamela (Alex) Evenson, of Eureka, Andrea (Jeremy) Zondag, of Roscoe, Rebecca Lee, of Eureka, Katelyn Merle, of Crystal Lake, Matthew Merle, of Crystal Lake; three great-grandsons, Finley and Zane Evenson, of Eureka, William Zondag, of Roscoe; and two sisters, Charlotte (Robert) Davis, of Broomfield, Colo., and Bernece Sykora, of Sanborn, Iowa.He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters.The Times (Ottawa, Illinois)March 13, 2017(revised to exclude arrangements)
