- Bio: Grace Hedman, 92, of Storden died Feb. 22, 2006, at Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook.Services were held Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden with Pastor Mark Swanson officiating.Special music was provided by Douglas Audette, vocalist; and Ardelle Swenson, organist.Casket bearers were Andy Olson, Todd Hedman, Matthew Meyer, Greg Cariolano, Tom Cariolano and Scott Cariolano.Honorary bearers were Grace's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughters.Interment was at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Storden.LaCanne Family Funeral Service of Windom and Storden handled the funeral arrangements.Grace Angeline Lee was born Nov. 27, 1913, to George and Dena (Lee) Lee in Polk Township of Iowa. She was baptized at an early age in Iowa and was later confirmed at Sharon Lutheran Church in Lamberton. She received her early education in a country school before graduating from Lamberton Public Schools in 1933.In 1933, Grace married Olav Hedman in Walnut Grove. The couple farmed in the Storden area for many years until retiring and moving into Storden in 1973.Grace and Olav were members of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church in rural Storden for many years until moving to Storden and becoming members of Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden.In 2004, Grace became a resident of Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in Westbrook.Grace was a wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Olav Hedman in 2002; and brothers: Orville, Millerd, Grant, Raymond and Merle Lee.Survivors include her five children: Patricia Hedman of Coon Rapids, Wallace (Colleen) Hedman of Storden, Stephen Hedman of New Hope, Diane (Marv) Meyer of Richfield and Mary Lynn (Richard) Olson of Roseau; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; a brother, Willard Lee of Somonauk, Ill.; five sisters: Esther Redman of Andover; Irene Eichstad of Stewartville; Bernece Sykora of Windom; Clara Weber of Mesa, Ariz.; and Charlotte (Bob) Davis of Broomfield, Colo.; and five sisters-in-law: Esther Lee of Houston, Texas; Marge Lee of Gilbert, Iowa; Eleanor Skjervold of Columbia Heights; Maureen Lee of West St. Paul; and Mary Lee of Boone, Iowa.
