- Bio: Kenneth Leroy Lampert, 81, Columbus, ND died Feb. 4, 2013.
- Kenneth was born June 24, 1931, the oldest of five children and was raised on the family farm in the Upland Township of Divide County.
- He attended school at Highland #1 and was baptized and confirmed at the Glenwood Lutheran Church.
- Kenny first joined the Air Force and after finishing his service, joined the Army. He was stationed in Germany, and then involved in the Korean War. This is where he met his wife, Ruth, who was also in the Army.
- Kenny and Ruth had three daughters; Diana, Debra (deceased) and Della.
- After finishing his military service, Ken was in law enforcement in Williston, ND and Florida.
- After retirement, Ken moved back to North Dakota where he owned Ken's Cafe in Columbus.
- Ken enjoyed cooking, fishing and telling fishing tales.
- Survivors include his mother, Alice Anseth, Crosby; brothers, Roger, Columbus, and Harlyn, Fountain Valley, CA; daughters, Dianna, Florida, Della, Maine and grandchildren; and numerous cousins in the Crosby area.
- He was preceded in death by his father, Hayden Lampert, a brother, Donald, a sister, Carol, his daughter, Debra, and a grandson.
