- Bio: Betty Jean Saltveit, 76, of Lincoln City, Ore., died of cancer October 8, 2008 in Lincoln City.She was born April 16, 1932 in Newberg.She worked with her husband, Charles Ronald Saltveit in their business, Chuck's Typewriter Service. She and Charles enjoyed camping and travel. Over the years, the couple went on over 20 cruises all over the world. She loved the ocean and moved to Lincoln City in 1992. She was a very charitable person who enjoyed working, helping, and providing for others. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafts. She was also an excellent cook and loved cooking with wine and on occasion would add some to the food.She was a long time Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce volunteer and a very active member of the Oceanlake Emblem Club. She will be remembered as an actively giving person.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Saltveit.She is survived by her children, James Alloway of Portland, Bruce Alloway of Portland and Lisa Felhman of Beaverton and four grandchildren.She was buried alongside her husband at Willamette National Cemetery.
