- Bio: Scott David Alfstad, 56, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Scott was born September 26, 1957, at St. Paul, Minnesota, to Louis and Yvonne (Wadholm) Alfstad. He was raised in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and Neche, North Dakota and graduated from Neche High School in 1976. He served in the US Navy for four years. Scott worked as a boilermaker for Northwest Construction and Capital City Construction. He enjoyed auto racing, gardening (so he could give it to others), chopping wood, fishing, camping, swimming in the ocean, model cars, puzzles, feeding wild birds and teaching grandchildren. He is survived by; life partner, Bonnie Schwab; four daughters, Nicole Alfstad, Stasha Alfstad, Cathi Kieper, and Stephanie Schown; one sister, Kim (Kelly) Geir, Mandan; and grandchildren, Katina, Carl, Tre, Lexa, and Renata; niece, Kayla, and nephew, Kyle; and his pet, Smidge. Scott was preceded in death by parents.
