- Bio: Magnus Abelson was born in South Dakota, a son of Abel Abelson 1875–1954, an immigrant from Norway in 1893, and Elvira "Ella" Caroline Johnson 1881–1953. He had siblings Ernest Abel 1904–1974, Blanche Alvira 1906–1995, Agnes 1909–1989 and Leonard Alvin 1921–2014.
- His family lived in Mission Hill, South Dakota where his father was a blacksmith and farmer.
- Magnus married Bertha Belle "Beth" Bullock 1907–2000 in 1929 in South Dakota. They had children Aileen Ardis 1930–2015 and Eugene ~1932-?.
- The family lived in Sioux City, Iowa and Richfield, Minnesota where Magnus worked for the International Harvester as a bookkeeper, foreman and parts salesman for 43 years.
- He and Bertha moved to Sun City, Arizona from Richfield after his retirement.
- Magnus was a member of the Lake Nokomis Lutheran church in Minnesota and was a Mason and a Shriner.
- Survivors included his wife, Bertha; daughter, Aileen Withnell of San Diego, California; son, Eugene (Barbara) of Richfield, Minnesota; one sister; one brother; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
