- Bio: Theodore Johnson son of Peter and Elizabeth Stuvick Johnson was born at Marengo, Iowa April 4, 1870 and passed away at the Rosary Hospital in Corning Saturday, April 9, 1966 at the age of 96 years. When he was 11 years of age, he moved with his family to Adams County, Iowa.In May 1895 he was united in marriage with Bertha Lee, and to this union two daughters were born. Mrs. Johnson passed away in 1902. During his lifetime, he was employed in Corning, Villisca, Omaha, Nebraska, and Cherokee, Iowa.In 1935, Mr. Johnson united in marriage to Belle Toohey and they farmed in the Strand Community, until retiring and moving to Villisca. Belle passed away in 1963. For the past five years, Mr. Johnson has been blind.He was baptized in his youth in the Strand Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, Bertha and his second wife, Belle, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Mable, who died at the age of five years and by four brothers and two sisters.Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Emelia Orstad of Villisca, two granddaughters, Mrs. Lowell Wallahan of Omaha, and Mrs. James Couch of Ralston, Nebraska. two sisters, Mrs. Edward Odson (Matilda), Nodaway, and Mrs. Emelia Hendrickson of Villisca, and one brother, Olie Johnson of Audubon, Iowa, two great grandchildren and one great grandchild.Funeral services were held Monday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca with Rev. George S. Snyder officiating. Interment was in the Strand Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Francis Gray. Flowerbearers were Maxine Narigon and Ruth Harper. Casketbearers were Paul Odson, Marshall Hendrickson, Earl Johnson, Elmo Odson, Ernie Olson, and G. L. Hendrickson.Adams County Free Press, April 21, 1966, page 5
