- Born March 19, 1910 in Sundvor, Norway Immigrated 1927, lived in Illinois and Minnesota before settling in Seattle 1940. Predeceased by wives Mildred and Irene. A decorated member of the 99th Inf Bat (Sep), participated in the Normandy Invasion, wounded at ElBeuf, France. A lifetime member of the Painter's union and the first man to paint the top of the Space Needle.
- He will be missed and remembered always by daughters Sigrid Solheim, Helene Solheim PhD, & Heidi Clarke (Ray Clarke), grandchildren Bjorn, Per, Nils and Emily, and step gran-daughter Cheryl Berney. His sister Margaret in Norway, cousin Margaret of Minnesota, dozens of nieces and nephews in Norway & Minnesota, & lifetime of good friends and neighbors.
Services Dec 16, 1996, 1pm at Highland Covenant Church, Bellevue.
