- Marcillius (Marcy) Huseby, 93, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Marcy was born in Newman Grove, Nebraska on February 2, 1921, the son of Oscar and Sarah (Johnson) Huseby.
- Following his graduation from high school, Marcy joined the Navy in 1939. He was an aviation mechanic on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga which played a key role in the Pacific theater during WWII.
- After receiving a medical discharge from the Navy in 1944, Marcy married the former Margaret (Marge) Eichenlaub in Vancouver, WA on March 30, 1946. They raised their family on north Whidbey Island where Marcy worked at NAS Whidbey.
- After retiring in 1974, Marcy and Marge moved to Mount Vernon in 1975. For over 20 years, they traveled and spent winters in Yuma, AZ. Marcy enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.
- Marcy is survived by his wife Marge of 68 years, brother Orvalle (Mac) Huseby of Mount Vernon, sister LaVone Kidder of Anacortes, sister JaDene Rolfson of Mount Vernon, son Wayne Huseby of Anacortes, daughter Mar-chia Maria of Bellevue and daughter Janice Sherm of Palm City, Florida. Marcy and Marge have 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
- A memorial service for Marcy will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon on Wednesday, October 22nd at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Western and Central Washington State Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association http://www.alz.org/alzwa/
