Wayne F. Hinseth, 86, of Viborg and formerly of Irene, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Irene. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery at Irene.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday, June 16, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene.
Wayne F. Hinseth youngest son of Albert & Amanda (Evenson) Hinseth was born August 10, 1922 one and a half miles West of Irene, SD. He was baptized & confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the Salem Lutheran Church west of Irene. He attended School for 12 years at Irene School. He farmed in the Irene vicinity for many years.
On September 22, 1944, he was united in marriage to Alberta Lucille Johnson, at the Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. J.M. Johnson. To this union there were two sons Marvin Wayne & Lyle Allen.
He was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church and later transferred to Calvary Lutheran Church when the two churches merged. He was a 4H Leader & active in 4H while his sons grew up. Wayne semi retired from farming in 1988 and built a new home in Irene. He enjoyed farming, traveling & wintering in Arizona & Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alberta and Amanda Hinseth, brother Sanford, sister-in-law Avonelle Knutson Hinseth & brother-in-law Dr. Edward Ruman.
Survivors include his wife A. Lucille, Viborg, sons Marvin (Charlotte) Hinseth, & Lyle (Helen) Hinseth all of Irene, nine grandchildren; Scott Hinseth, Jerald (Tricia) Hinseth Kandie (Greg) Saugstad, Marty Hinseth, Haley Hinseth, Kevin Hinseth, Kyle (Michelle) Hinseth Nathan Hinseth Shantel Hinseth & seven great-grandchildren; Bailey, Caitlin & Hunter Hinseth, Emily & Skylar Hinseth, Cole & Korie Norris, also one brother Merlin (Pearl) Hinseth and one sister Esther Ruman.
