Funeral services were held here Saturday afternoon at the Wolfe Funeral Home for Frank Hedstrom of Villisca, who died May 30, 1949 at Bend, Oregon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vernie Triplett, following an extended illness. He had been a resident of the Villisca vicinity for many years.
The funeral sermon was by Rev. Herbert H. Stahnke and the singing was by Cecil Weaver, accompanied by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler. The pall bearers were Grover Hold, Floyd Jamison, Percy TenEyck, Fred Fryer, Frank Himiller, and Allison Buffington and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery beside the deceased’s wife who died in 1942.
Frank Francis Hedstrom was born near Strand Iowa in Montgomery County, Iowa, February 14, 1884, and was 65 years old at the time of his death. He was baptized and attended the Lutheran Church.
He was married to Bertha Larson in 1910, resided near Carbon until 1925 when moved to a farm near Villisca.
To this union were born four daughters, who survive. They are Mrs. Vernie Triplett, Bend, Oregon; Mrs. Joe Varriano, Fort Worth, Texas; Betty Jean Hedstrom, Bend, Oregon; and Mrs. Bob Wilcox, Villisca. There are also three granddaughters.
Mr. Hedstrom leaves also three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Hanson, Omaha; Mrs. Josephine Leonard, Villisca, and Bertha DeVoss, Stanton, and was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred (Matilda Hokenson) Hedstrom, one sister, Anna Taylor, and three brothers, Nels, August, and Henry.
