- Bio: Clifford S. Hanson Clifford S. Hanson, 87 died Friday, August 30, 1996 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove. Funeral Services were held Monday, September 2 at the Shell Creek Lutheran Church in Newman Grove. Pastor William Jacobson officiated. Mrs. Leonard Jacobson was organist and Lloyd Long was soloist. Casket bearers were Aldon Roberg, Calvin Qualset, Craig A. Nelson, Allen Evans, Collin Koeppen and Dennis Van Allen. Clifford Sherman Hanson, the son of Nels J. and Mollie Hanson, was born June 6, 1909 at Herrick, SD. He moved to Newman Grove community when he was an infant. He was a lifelong member of Shell Creek Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and married. On June 6, 1996 he married Clara Halverson. He was a member of the Newman Grove community all of his life. He attended rural schools in Madison County. He farmed in the community until his retirement in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Clara of Newman Grove; daughter Ceva Andersen of Topeka, KS; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Marie Ekstrom of Lincoln, Adeline Vakoc of Wayne and June King of Salt Lake City, UT; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Agnes Olson and two brothers, Oben and Dale Hanson.Page 4 of the Albion News, published in Albion, Nebraska on Wednesday,September 4th, 1996
