- Bio: Agnes Olson (130645172)Suggested edit: Agnes O. OlsonFuneral services for Agnes O. Olson, 89, of Newman Grove, were held Tuesday, May 17, 1994, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Grove. Pastor Harlan Heler officiated with interment in the Trinity Cemetery No. 1 Newman Grove. Mrs. Olson died May 13 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.Mrs. Reuben Johnson was organist.Casket bearers were Jerry Larson, Don Larson, Tom Barnes, James Atkinson, Dennis Van Ellen and Charles Arenz.Agnes O. Olson, the daughter of Nels and Mollie Hanson, was born February 2, 1905 in Newman Grove. She attended Newman Grove Public Schools and graduated in 1923.On July 5, 1931, she married George H. Olson of Newman Grove. To this union, one daughter, Willa, was born.Agnes was a life-long resident of Newman Grove. She was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church, civic events, Sons of Norway, and P.E.O. She taught school, worked at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home and worked with her husband at the Olson grocery.Survivors include her son-in-law, Dr. Edgar H. Smith of Omaha; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her brother, Clifford Hanson of Newman Grove; and sisters, Mrs. Marian Ekstrom of Lincoln, Mrs. Adeline Vakoc of Wayne and Mrs. June King of Salt Lake City, UT.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 1980; her daughter, Willa in 1993; and two brothers, Oben and Dale.From Page 4 of Albion News, published in Albion, Nebraska on Wednesday, May 25, 1994Contributor: Dave Johnson (49058811) • dpj8197@comcast.net
