- Bio: Daughter of Andrew and Mable (Nelson) Haaland. She grew up on a farm and attended school there, graduating from Veblen High School. On September 3, 1949, Lorraine married Marvin A. Dalberg in Aberdeen. Their son Loren was born in Ipswich in 1950. They later moved to Aberdeen and Lorraine worked at the Lumber Yard as a bookkeeper. For several years they moved to Washburn, ND before returning to Aberdeen.
- After retirement Lorraine enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking. She was an avid shopper as well and was always sure to check the sales ads. In her later years she enjoyed the classics; both music and movies. She loved her westerns and classic movies and some musicals. Lorraine also enjoyed listening to the live music at the Brown County Fair where she attended yearly for over forty years.
- Lorraine was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she was very active. She was also a member of the Elvis Presley Fan Club in her younger years. Lorraine was a strong believer in charity and gave generously to cancer research, the humane society, and the Fraternal Order of Police.
- Grateful for having shared Lorraine’s life are her granddaughter Rebecca (Samuel) Miller; great grandchildren, Joshua and Peyton Miller-Dalberg; adopted grandson, Toby Dalberg; daughter-in-law, Alice Dalberg; step-grandchildren, David Sprout Jr., Tammy (Gary) Delong, Eve Sprout, and Adam Sprout; several step great-grandchildren; sister, June (Leon) Wegener; brother, Curtis (Carmen) Haaland; cousin and best friend, Colleen Schlepp; brother-in-law, Elroy (Dorothy) Dahlberg and sister-in-law, Mae Dalberg.
- Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Marvin A. Dalberg; son, Loren M. Dalberg; and parents, Andrew and Mable Haaland.
- The funeral service for Lorraine M. Dalberg, 83, Aberdeen, were 11:00 am, Monday, November 3, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Rhia Strohm officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.
