- Sharon Sue Palmer
Services for Sharon Sue Palmer were held Thursday, Dec. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Aaron Kotila officiating. Burial followed at the El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
- Sharon died Dec. 11, 2020, in Oklahoma City. She was born Aug. 27, 1938, in El Reno, living in the community most of her life. She was a graduate of Lawton High School and worked in several areas during her life including as a lab technician in Oklahoma City for Dr. Anspaugh at his OBGYN Clinic, loan processor at OK Federal Savings and Loan, Judy Lea Fashions, and owned and operated the Southwest Tag Agency.
- Her calling in life was to be a homemaker and she excelled as a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed participating in the activities of her children and grandchildren and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
- On June 18, 1960, she married Robert Edward Palmer. They celebrated their 60th anniversary before his death on Sept. 3, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leland and Edith (Lillie) Gustafson and two brothers, Taylor Gustafson and Donald Gustafson.
- Sharon is survived by her son, Robert Edward Palmer Jr. and wife, Lori of Stillwater; daughter, Deborah Sue Palmer of El Reno; son, David Alan Palmer and wife, Dana of Warr Acres; grandchildren and spouses, Josh and Jamie Burkhead, Bryce and Stephanie Burkhead, Colin Palmer, Whitney Burkhead, Jordan Palmer and Emily Palmer; great-grandchildren, Maddie and Colton Burkhead; and many nieces and nephews.
- Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
