- Bio: Maynard Gunderson, 77, Lake Mills, died Saturday, April 18, 1987, at Albert Lea, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leland, the Rev. Randy Hansen officiated. Interment was at Forest Home Cemetery, Leland. Mr.Gunderson was born April 21, 1909, in Faribault County to Mathia and Minnie (Nelson) Gunderson. He was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church at Frost, Minn., and confirmed in Minneapolis. On September 10, 1930, he was married to Agnes Johnson at Bethany Lutheran Church at Frost. They farmed in the Scarville and Leland areas many years. In 1980, they moved to Lake Mills. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leland.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes; one daughter, Mrs. Robert(Donna) Brekken, Scarville, Iowa; one son, Gary Gunderson, Bullhead City, Arizona; one brother, Eddie Gunderson, Heppner, Oregon; three grandchildren; and three great-grand hildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Clara Gunderson, Lizzie Peterson, and Bertha Frericks; and two brothers, George and Melvin. I Pallbearers were Paul Klipping, Julius Eastvold, Gilmer Haugen, Lloyd Frowick,Leonard Holland and Orville Bowman. Honorary pallbearers were Wade Dorenbush, George Weaver, Oscar Ambroson, Tilford Carlson, Glenn Olson and Paul Vaagen. Mittelstadt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. .
