- Bio: Robert Allen "Bob" Glines, age 79, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Wednesday, March, 1, 2006 at Praire Lakes Hospital in Watertown. Funeral services were held at the Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown, with pastor Steve Lauricella officiating. Interment was in the Vienna Lutheran Cemetery near Vienna South Dakota.Robert Allen Glines, the son of Frank and Vera (Froke) Glines was born on March 7, 1926 in Roscoe, South Dakota.He grew up on a farm near Vienna, SD where he attended school. On July 26, 1944, when he was a senior in high school, he was drafted into the military and was honorably discharged on November 13, 1946. After serving in the United States Army during WWII, he married Lorrie Tjosvold on May 28, 1949 in Yuma, AZ. Robert went on to graduate with an Education degree from Northern State University in 1953 and a Masters degree in Education from South Dakota State University in 1966. He was a teacher and school administrator for nearly 40 years at Henry, Deubrook,Spencer, Willow Lake and Florence schools. He was an active member and treasurer of the Watertown Magic Mile Lion's Club, a member of the American Legion, School Administrators of South Dakota, Retired Teachers Association, Codington County Historical society and Grace Lutheran Church. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Lorrie. He is survived by two daughters, Jan (Jim) Platt of West Point, Ia. and Leigh Ann (Dean) Gehrels of Madison, Sd, two sisters, Nadene (Marvin) Brenden of Dempster, SD, and Betty Blagen on Milnor, ND; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
