Her memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Great Falls. Her remains, along with those of her late husband, Arthur B. Peterson, will be placed in the columbarium there. All States Cremation in Wheatridge, Colo., was in charge of cremation.
Margaret was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Sand Coulee, and at an early age moved to Great Falls where she lived until she was 82. She then moved to the Denver suburb of Morrison to live with her daughter's family. She spent her last two years at Bear Creek Nursing Home.
She married Arthur B. Peterson in 1940 in Great Falls. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper at Electric City Conservatory for approximately 30 years
She was an active member of Order of Eastern Star, where she served as secretary for many years. She also served as treasurer for Our Saviors Lutheran Church for many years.
She spent her summer weekends at the family cabin in Lincoln. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and crocheted many lap robes to donate to shut-ins. Her main interest and love for the past 10 years has been loving and teaching her great-grandchildren the intricacies of life.
Survivors include a daughter; a son; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Peterson.
Memorials are suggested to Abiding Hope Preschool, which her little great-grandchildren attend, 6337 South Robb Way, Littleton, CO 80127. The little children made her 10 years younger every time they entered her room, and they visited her two to three times per week and give her much needed hugs.
