- Bio: HELEN FRAFJORD, 87, of Beulah, ND died Monday, February 16, 2015 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at a later date. Helen Bernice Frafjord was born to Borge and Hannah (Mjolhus) Frafjord on March 28, 1927 in Golden Valley, ND. Helen's parents were farmers from Norway who immigrated to the United States, but Helen was raised all her life in Golden Valley. Helen went to school through the eighth grade. After school she lived at home and worked for people, often doing housecleaning. Helen was raised an American Lutheran. Her father died on July 31, 1967 very suddenly and her mother passed on February 8, 1971 of an enlarged liver. Helen came to live at the Beulah Nursing Home on June 7, 1982, later moving to Elgin on September 5, 1990 to live at Dakota Hills Housing, before returning to Beulah on October 15, 2013 to spend the rest of her life at Knife River Care Center. Helen greatly enjoyed taking care of the yard and gardening. She also liked to go for walks, needlework, hunting for treasures at rummage sales. Helen was a very kind person and will be greatly missed. Helen is survived by her siblings, Alice (Lambert) Kastrow of Hebron, ND, Esther Brunmeier of Golden Valley and Ervin Frafjord of Fruita, CO; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jorine (Adoph) Burkhardt, and her brothers, Donald and Terry.
