- Mrs. Mary Hilsabeck, 88, a mile southwest of Ferguson, died at her home Monday evening following an illness of 18 months. She had been bedfast only since last Thursday. Death was due to infirmities of old age and complications. Mrs. Hilsabeck was born in Middletown, Ind. Jan. 15, 1847, the oldest daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Fiscus. She was married to Martin Hilsabeck of Ferguson Feb. 22, 1866 at Middletown. They came to Ferguson after their marriage and had since made their home there. Mr. Hilsabeck died June 17, 1915.
- Three daughters, Floy, Elizabeth and Sarah also preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Willard, Pembine, Wis., Nelson, Ferguson and Frank Delbert, Liscomb, and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hilsabeck and Mrs. Fanny Kaufman, Manning. Thirty seven grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at the Estel funeral home in charge of Rev. Herman A. Crawford, pastor of the Christian church at Ferguson. Burial will be in the Timber Creek cemetery. -Times Republican, November 19, 1935
