- Bio: Donald L. Falnes, 61
WINNEBAGO - Donald L. Falnes, 61, of Winnebago, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 1995, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1934, in Calmar, Iowa, son of John and Esther Hill Falnes. Married to Virginia E. Goad on Aug. 22, 1959 in Trinity Lutheran Church of Rockford. Employed as a lithographer, retiring in March 1991 for health reasons. Graduate of West High School in 1953. Served in U.S. Army. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago, serving as usher and on usher committee. Coached and organized little league baseball for many years. Volunteer for Rockford Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Virginia: daughter, Mindy Falnes, Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Scott Falnes, Murfeesboro, TN and Craig Falnes at home; three brothers, Raymond (Merilyn) Falnes, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Virgil Falnes, Rockford, and Gary Falnes, Goodrich, MI; two sisters, Marilyn (Bert) Thomas, Sun City West, AZ, and Sandra (Glen) Turnbull, Roscoe.
- Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, in First Presbyterian Church of Winnebago, with the Rev. J. Michael Solberg, pastor, officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in Genandt Funeral Home, 602 S. Winnebago Road, Winnebago. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church and Win-Bur-Sew Fire Department.
