- Bio: Ione Sonerholm, 61, of rural Stanhope, died Thursday afternoon, June 11, 1987, at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. She had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Neal Solomonson officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at Fosters from 3 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service. Ione Ann Enderson, daughter of Andrew and Inga (Fardal) Enderson, was born April 26, 1926, on a farm southwest of Stanhope. She was educated in rural schools in the Stanhope area and graduated from Stanhope High School in 1943. On January 23, 1945, she married Melvin E. Sonerholm at Stratford. The couple farmed in the Stanhope area. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 13, 1982, and Mrs. Sonerholm continued to reside on the farm. She is survived by four daughters; Ann (Mrs. Lon) Crosby of Rosemont, Penn., Lynne (Mrs. Jim) Lorence of Ankeny, Kay (Mrs. Joe) Moorman of Bridgeview, Ill., and Penny (Mrs. Scott) Wedemeier of Oneida, Ill.; five grandchildren; two brothers and a sister; Orlin Enderson of Ankeny and Harold Enderson and Nioma (Mrs. Ralph) Whalen of Stanhope. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Stanhope, and was active in the ALCW. She was also a member of the Sharon Chapter of the Eastern Star in Webster City and served Grand Chapter as a grand officer in 1969. She was appointed district instructor in 1978 and was still serving in that capacity.
