- Bio: Blossom Mae Monson passed away Feb. 7, 2017. Born to Charles and Maary Duncan on Aug. 11, 1933 in Moville, Iowa. She moved to Elk Creek at age 16 with her dad and brother, Norman, to farm, as her mother passed away when she was five years old. She graduated from Elk Creek in 1952 and went to Peru State College and taught in a one room schoolhouse. She later had five children, Charles, David, Dale, Mary Jo, and Penny, then remarried to Albert and had one more son, Matthew. She moved to Meeker, Colo., and taught 4th grade there for many years. Later she returned to Sterling and Meadow Grove and then to Lincoln. Blossom is described as a very spunky, sociable, loving, empathetic woman who really love the Lord Jesus Christ.
- A dedicated family woman, she was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Charles & Dale, daughter, Penny and hear husband, Albert. She is succeeded in life by her son David Epley and his wife Cynthia, Mary Jo Cassner and her husband David, Matthew Monson and his wife Cynthia, and grandchildren Rachael (John) Tomasek, Bobby Searcey, Michelle (AJ) Maguire, Austin and Leah Cassner, Katelyn, Logan, and Chase Monson. Great-grandchildren: Penny, Oden, Damon, Cecilee, baby Maguire, and baby James John Tomasek.
- Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, 2/11, at Lincoln Berean Church.
- She will be greatly missed.
