  Bio: NEWMAN GROVE — Services for Gary D. Duhachek, 79, of Newman Grove will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Fellowship Bible Church in Newman Grove, with burial to follow at Trinity Cemetery in rural Newman Grove. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Newman Grove Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at the Neligh Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neligh. 1938-2017 Gary Dean Duhachek was born July 23, 1938, the only son of Ralph and Marie (Nickolaison) Duhachek. He lived in the Newman Grove area all his life. After graduating from Newman Grove High School in 1955, he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and then returned to the family farm. He married Judith Whitehorn of Newman Grove on Feb. 19, 1957, and to this union four children were born: Jeanie, Connie, Eric and Greg. Gary was active in his community and church. He served on the Newman Grove Cooperative Creamery Board for many years. He served on the church board of Trinity Lutheran Church in various capacities and was treasurer of the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home. He was also a member of the Newman Grove Public School Board for eight years. He loved sports and pitched for the Newman Grove fast-pitch softball team for many years. Later in life he felt called to become a pastor, was ordained and ministered at Grace Church of Newman Grove. Gary suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and lived out his final years at the care center in Neligh. Gary leaves a loving family: his wife, Judith of Newman Grove; daughter Jeanie (Dennis) McCloud of Newman Grove, their children, Joshua (Michelle) McCloud of Gretna, Abbie (Branden) Murray of Newman Grove and Katie (Bo) Brummels of Norfolk; daughter Connie (Bruce) Zimmerman, their children Aaron (Jamie) Zimmerman and Ryan (Molly) Zimmerman, all of Pierce; son Eric Duhachek of Ogallala; son Greg (Julie) Duhachek of Eldridge, Iowa, and their children Travis and Kylie; 14 great-grandchildren; his only sister, LuJean Dunlap, of Estes Park, Colo.. and her children and spouses; and many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marie Duhachek, and grandparents John and Anna Duhachek and Nick and Bertha Nickolaison. Familjemedlemmar
