    • Bio: He was born August 31, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN, to George F. and Mary E. (Macken) Campbell.
    • He was raised in Rochester, MN, graduating from Lourdes High School in 1957.
    • He entered the US Air Forces and served a 20 year career in the Aircraft Communications, Missile Guidance and Satellite Command and Control fields. Subsequent to his service, he worked for the Omaha Public Power District, retiring as an Instrument and Control Coordinator at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant in 1996.
    • He met a cute little gal Martha Farnsworth from Spring Valley, MN at a dance at the Playmor Ballroom in Rochester, MN while home on leave. They were married in Rochester on February 27, 1960. To their marriage was born their children, Mary Margaret (Dave) Rezac of rural Fremont, James Daniel Campbell of Charleston, SC, and Steven Frank Campbell of Elk Point, SD.
    • The family spent time in Karsiyaka, Turkey, while Dick was manning a Jupiter Missile site up in the mountains. He was proud that both his sons and his grandson, Jeremiah (Rachael) Rezac also did their duty to their country in the military.
    • Richard was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, American Legion Post #20 and Vets Club. He was a member of the Elkhorn Valley Riffle Club in Arlington and a former member of the Eagles in Fremont.
    • Fishing, hunting, and shooting were his favorites, many times in Northern Minnesota or to the Mississippi River in the SE part of the state. Richard enjoyed photography of birds and working with Genealogy.
    • He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; brothers, David and Robert Campbell.
    • In addition to the immediate family he is survived by a sister, Mary Beth (Martin) Gores and a brother, Mark (Anne) Campbell; and great grandson, Mason Rezac.
    • Richard and his wife, Martha will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont at a later date with a private graveside service with military honors.
