- Bio: Robert Alvin Bucholz, age 74, of rural Black River Falls, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse,Wisconsin.Robert was born on August 9, 1940 in Sparta, Wisconsin to Alvin and Dorothea (Schoen) Bucholz. After graduating from Black River Falls High School in 1958, he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a combat engineer in Korea and during the Berlin Conflict.On September 15, 1962 he married Donna McIntosh at Princeville Church. They later divorced and he married Patricia Hagen on December 5, 1981 at the Shamrock Union Cemetery in rural Black River Falls.Robert worked at General Motors in Janesville and eventually owned a roofing and siding company in Janesville. He bought a farm next to his parent’s farm and moved back to Black River Falls in 1972 where he farmed for the rest of his life. When he moved back to Black River he also took over his Dad’s job at the Town of Manchester plowing snow. He retired in December of 2015.Robert is survived by his wife Patricia; two sons, Steven (Robin) Bucholz and Kirk (Stacy) Bucholz, both of Black River Falls; a step-son, Robbie (Denise) Hagen of Ashland, Ohio; a step-daughter , Rhonda (Ron) Charneski of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; one sister, Arlene Hoff of Janesville, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Dorothea; a daughter, Susan Moore; two grandchildren, Heather Knoll and Owen Hagen; two great-grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Knight and Christian Lee Knight.Funeral services will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shamrock Union Church, rural Black River Falls, with Rev. Terry Marg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Buswell Funeral Home
