- Bio: TORRINGTON, Wyo. — Memorial services for Kirk E. Broberg, 51, will be held at a later date. Kirk died at home in Torrington on January 28, 2018 succumbing to his battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
- Kirk was born September 28, 1966 in Tilden, Nebraska to Gerald M. Broberg and Barbara K. (Sharples) Hulscher. He attended Newman Grove Public Schools until the family moved to Torrington, Wyoming where he graduated high school in 1987. After high school Kirk attended Eastern Wyoming College and graduated with an associate’s degree. He lived in many different places including Newman Grove, Nebraska, Torrington and Huntley before settling in Fort Laramie, Wyoming in 2003. Kirk worked for Huntley Shorthorn Farms with Chuck Jones, Courtesy Automotive with Don Bartlett, Booth Chopping with Jodie Booth and numerous other businesses including his own shop Kirk’s Diesel Lube.
- Survivors include his daughters Ashley Kurth and her husband Nicolas of Hardin, Montana and Amber Ferguson and her husband Josh of Torrington, Wyoming; his son Kirk Broberg Jr of Rawlins, Wyoming; six grandchildren; his mother Barbara K. Hulscher of Heritage Estates in Gering, Nebraska; brother Keith and his companion Diana Thomas of Modesto, California; sisters Becky Cannata and husband Stephen of Torrington and Beth Donbraska and her husband Ricky of Torrington; brother Kyle and his wife Maryella of Lingle, Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children Merna Broberg of Torrington. Kirk also leaves behind his faithful and loyal companion Dexter, and his traveling friend and compadre, Sandy Howell. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his father Gerald M. Broberg; his dad John L. Hulscher Jr; his brother Kenny; and grandson Erik Kurth.
