- Bio: Barbara Kruger-Hillesland passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN on Saturday, October 24, 2009 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born February 12, 1926 in St. Peter, MN. She later moved to Rochester, MN, became an Army Cadet and attended St. Mary's College. After graduating with a 3 year degree in nursing, she served as a Registered Nurse at Mayo Clinic for 43 years until her retirement in 1991. After retirement she moved to Ormond Beach, Florida to be close to her daughter and granddaughter. Barb will be remembered for her intellect, her keen wit and sense of humor, her steadfast faith and amazing capacity to love. She was an avid reader, and loved to take long walks with her friends and family. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her beloved granddaughter, Gabriella. Barb is survived by her children, Kelly Kruger, Rob Kruger, Tom Kruger, Mary Loessin, and Barbara Sather; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and many friends in Minnesota and Florida. A memorial mass for Barb will take place at Prince Of Peace Church in Ormond Beach on November 11, 2009 at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Barb's honor, to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
