- Bio: Harvey R. Bowen, 89, formerly
of Delphi, died at 11:10 a.m. May
13, 1992, at the Indiana Veterans
Home in West Lafayette. He had
been a resident there since
February 1991.
- Born May 1, 1903, in Portland,
he was the son of Harry and Ida
Lynch Bowen. His marriage was
on May 16, 1942, in Muncie, to
Thelma Madson. She died in 1972.
- A graduate of the former Muncie
Barber School, he had been a barber
for more than 50 years in the
Delphi and Flora communities. He
retired in the early 1980s.
- He was a former member of Delphi
First Presbyterian Church and a
member of American Legion Post
75 in Delphi. He served in the
Army Air Corps during World War
II.
- Surviving are one son, Robert H.
Bowen of Rt. 2, Brookston; a
daughter, Sally Hogan of Monticello;
and two granddaughters. He
was preceded in death by a sister
and two brothers.
- Services were Saturday at Horn
Funeral Home with Rev. James
Rankin officiating. Burial was in
Masonic Cemetery.
