- Bio: Canton - Jeanette Ulrickson, age 87, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Bethesda Home of Beresford. Jeanette Opal Ulrickson was born March 14, 1919, on a farm near Beresford, S.D., to Gustav and Dorothea (Grottveit) Bjorneberg. She attended country school and graduated from Augustana Academy in Canton in 1937. She then attended business school in Grand Island, Neb. She worked in a bank in Beresford for several years. Jeanette married Kerwin Ulrickson on March 10, 1946, at Romsdal Lutheran Church of rural Beresford. They made their home on a farm south of Canton. Prior to marriage, she taught Sunday school at Romsdal. She was a long-time member of Lands Lutheran, where she active in Ladies Aid and in the church welcoming committee. She enjoyed baking and will be remembered for her delicious caramel rolls. Jeanette is survived by her husband, Kerwin; daughter, Janice (Dave) Thielman, Minneapolis, Minn.; son, John (Cheryl), West Fargo, N.D.; four grandchildren, John, Sara, Jason and Sonja; two great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Olivia; and one brother, Stanley (Viola) Bjorneberg, Garretson, S.D. She was preceded by her parents and three brothers, Harold, Grant, and Robert. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Lands Lutheran Church of rural Hudson, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Published in the Aberdeen News on 5/23/2006.
