- Anchorage resident Dawn Eilleen Richardson, 63, died from cancer Aug. 18, 1999, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. There was a memorial service for Mrs. Richardson at Anchorage Baptist Temple. The Rev. Jerry Prevo officiated. Burial was at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
- Mrs. Richardson was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Billings, Mont. She graduated from Powell High School in 1955 and attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minn. She moved to Alaska in 1970, living in Anchorage until moving to Big Lake in 1974. In 1976 she moved to Wasilla, and she returned to Anchorage in 1997. She was a teacher for 15 years at schools including King Center, Heritage Christian School, Palmer Community Christian School and Anchorage Christian Schools. She retired from Anchorage Christian Schools in 1998. Her interests included crafts, sewing, cooking, camping, fishing and singing at home or at church. She attended Anchorage Baptist Temple. Her family says, ''Although the disease of cancer may have conquered her body, nothing could defeat her spirit, her love, her hope or her faith in God.'' They went on to quote, '' 'Only one life will soon passed, and only what's done for Christ will last.' ''
- Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband, James Richardson of Anchorage; son, R.J. Richardson of Wasilla; daughters and sons-in-law, Maryellen and Sam Kanayurak of Seward, Shade (Heather) and Roy Craik of Seattle; granddaughter, Sierra Kanayurak of Seward; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Bernee Young of San Jacinto, Calif., Richard and Becky Young of Billings, Mont., and George and Shelly Young of Corona, Calif.; brother, Olen Young of San Diego, Calif.; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Dick Lamb of Billings, Mont. Arrangements by Alaska Cremation Center.
