- EDGAR WELLS
Edgar E. Wells passed away at his home on Dec. 5, 1998 after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 1 pm in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery with military rights.
Edgar was born on Aug. 2, 1925 in Bonners Ferry to Edgar and Helma (Dyvig) Wells. He received his education in Bonners Ferry and before graduation joined the U.S. Army where he served with the 125th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Edgar served in Europe durind WW II. After the war he was stationed in Alaska and later served in the Korea War.
After his discharge he returned to Boundary County where he worked for the county road and bridge and served in the National Guard. He also worked as a bartender. On Dec. 29, 1963, Edgar married Lois Levig in Bonners Ferry. In December, 1964 he went to work for the State of Idaho Highway Dept. He continued working for the state until 1987 when he retired as a lead worker in the Idaho Dept. of Transportation.
In retirement Edgar and Lois enjoyed trips to Alaska for summers but would always return home in time for hunting season.
Edgar is survived by his wife Lois, children: Bill Dickerson, Tom Dickerson and wife Carlyn, Donald Wells and wife Christy, Wanda (Toby) Wise, and husband Larry, Melvin (Rusty) Wells and wife Joanne, Barbara Wells; his brother Burton Wells and wife Kathleen, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
